 Located in the amazing ecotorism location between the town of Santa Elena and the world famous Monteverde cloud forest reserve, the Los Pinos Hotel offers fourteen private bungalows in which regroup after an exhausting day exploring. Ranging in size from one bedroom to a family sized three bedroom, the cabanas offer privacy; there is at least 150 feet between each bungalow; and convenience; each cabana has a fully functional kitchenette.
Imagine each morning sitting out on your private porch, enjoying your coffee after a leisurely night in your private rain forest cabin! Located on a large, nearly 10 acre plot, the Los Pinos Hotel, offer a rare chance to relax and enjoy the beauty that is around you in this area of Costa Rica.
All cabins are fully furnished, with separate hot water tanks and varying numbers of bedrooms. They sleep anywhere from two to six people and are perfect for people traveling alone or with their families. Though food is not served on the property, the cabanas are within easy walking or taxi distance of a variety of Monteverde restaurants. Guests are also encouraged to use the kitchenettes to whip a little late supper or to enjoy a family breakfast before heading out to see the sights. The nearby town of Santa Elena has a modern supermarket, as well as a number of fine restaurants and bars.
 Los Pinos boasts beautiful grounds which include landscaped gardens, a multitude of beautiful orchids, private parking and some heavily wooded areas. There is plenty to explore right on the property, but the proximity to the amazing Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is the primary draw to this location. This is an amazing eco-tourism destination for those seeking solitude in the beauty of nature. Though tucked away in the mountains, visitors can find all the modern conveniences in the nearby town of Santa Elena such as restaurants, cafes, shops, a supermarket, internet cafes and a bank.
The cabins all are equipped with cable television, but you will find that it is the natural beauty that surrounds you that is the primary attraction. The area of Monteverde hosts the most amazing cloud and rain forests in Costa Rica. This world famous reserve of over 25,000 acres is home to a large variety of plants and wildlife. There are over 3000 species of plant documented in the reserve with over 400 orchids represented. The Monteverde Reserve is also a haven for a variety of bird species, making the area a prime spot for some world class bird watching. The Resplendent Quetzal, which migrates to the lower portion of the park in mating season and the endangered Three-wattled Bellbird are just some of the unique species that can be seen with regularity.
The Reserve also hosts a hummingbird sanctuary, in which over thirty species of hummingbird can be viewed at any given moment.
