Many other, over 1200 in fact, different species of insects and reptiles/amphibians reside in the park, including an interesting selection of both venomous and non-venomous snakes.

Bird watchers travel from all over the world to view the amazing bird life that resides in this world class sanctuary.  It is not unusual to see over thirty types of hummingbirds, as well as the The Resplendent Quetzal, which migrates to the lower portion of the park in mating season.  The Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve is also home to the most brightly colored of all toads (El Sapo Dorado) which resides only in this one small part of the Monteverde Cloud Forest.
